Position: Performance Engineering is seeking to hire an Intern Civil Engineer (Civil) at our Billings, Montana office. The ideal candidate will be on track to acquire a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university. Experience in land use planning, infrastructure system modeling/permitting/design, and construction management is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

1. Design: Assist Associate Engineers in the implementation of design standards/policies/procedures, design calculations and design report completion.
2. Construction Engineering: Read and understand design plans, assist contractors with interpretation of plans, and enforce design plans and specifications during construction.
3. Administration: Produce construction administration documentation (i.e. field reports, daily logs) and implement construction administration standards/policies/procedures.
4. Learn: Identify strengths and weaknesses as well as areas for improvement if a full-time/permanent position is offered.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Previous office, field, construction, or customer service work experience preferred
• Above average computer skills and ability to learn and integrate new technologies
• Proficiency in the following: Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, Word), AutoCAD, Civil3D, WaterCAD, and FlowMaster
• Clean driver’s license and record
